I got this lovely Wedding Favors!

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

I think Valentine’s day is the best day for a wedding. We both wanted a Valentines day wedding. After we picked the church and the place for our reception, I started shopping for what they called the ‘love themed favor.’ It didn’t take me long to find some very romantic wedding invitations for our ceremony. What I liked the best about these invitations, was the two little hearts hooked together as a symbol of unity. Mom’s suggestion of buying extra invitations was really a good idea since I messed up two of them while writing them out.

Now that the invitations were on their way, it was time to do some major accessories shopping. My mom went with me to find the perfect wedding dress and wedding shoes. Once she got past the tears at the first sight of every wedding dress I tried on, she was a big help. After several shops and about a hundred different styles of wedding dresses, I found the one I wanted. In the meantime, my fiance picked out his tux and so did the groomsmen at the first shop they went to. Since he wasn’t too choosy about his wedding attire, I was a little worried that he’d look more like a pall bearer than a groom. But I was wrong, he did good, and he looked extremely handsome.

After I took care of everything the wedding party needed, it was time to consider ceremony decorations. Since this was a valentines day wedding, there were lots of gorgeous red roses, ribbons and big velvet bows on each row of pews. I also had lots of candles around the altar, including our love themed unity candle. The church allowed me to have red and pink rose petals tossed down the aisle by our flower girl. You have to have permission from churches now to follow that tradition, because many of them would rather you not throw things like petals on the aisles, thankfully, that wasn’t the case with our church. Everything went off without a hitch and the decorations were as perfect as our wedding ceremony.

Even though I did quite a bit of shopping for our wedding ceremony, there was even more to do for our reception. Our supplies for the reception started with love theme decorations with a love theme and ended with in love favors. There were bouquets of red roses placed everywhere and little red hearts hung from above. In front of the band was red and white balloons in the shape of a large heart, right on the dance floor.

Our tables were so beautiful with all the lovely centerpieces of flowers and a little cupid in each one. Our little place card holders had beautiful little white pearls on them. There were some fantastic favors boxes to choose from for the love favors we bought for our friends and family. Everyone commented on how lovely their reception tables were and the little favor boxes too. Our bridal wedding table was really exquisite too. There were crystal heart champagne flutes for our wedding toast, and an absolutely gorgeous love themed cake serving set. But I think our three tiered wedding cake outshined everything on our table. For our cake topper I decided on these adorable little love birds. Our wedding table was exquisitely decorated, from the gorgeous crystal to our magnificent wedding cake.

Shopping online for all the accessories and supplies made this wedding the perfection of glamour and elegance.

After my husband and I returned from our honeymoon, I got started on all the thank you notes for our guests. I also received a few thank you’s from our friends and family telling us how much they enjoyed the wedding and reception and how much they liked their little love party favors. I think that was very thoughtful.
